Progressive Postcards - BM2002

One day at center camp at Burning Man 2002, I decided to do a progressive postcard piece. I started by writing my address on a postcard. I then approached other Burning Man participants at random and asked them write something to the stranger who had addressed the postcard and to address a blank postcard. One after another, I added people to the chain of postcards until, I had completed the 50 postcards. I left Burning Man with my stack of postcards and just before Christmas, I put stamps on the cards and mailed them.

This piece, like some of my others, was an experiment in building community as well as a random act of kindness. If I manage to make one person grin while thinking back to the warm, lazy days at center camp, I will consider the project a success.
