The Portal Project
Welcome to the Illuminaughty Portal Project for Burningman 2000. This page was intended to keep everyone informed on what was going on with the portal.
The portal was the main entrance to our camp. Our vision was to create a freestanding structure that people could walk through to enter our camp. Since this will be many people's first impression of our camp, we wanted to create a beacon that attracts people and fits well with our "Illuminaughty" theme as well as the theme of this year's burningman.
The portal consists of 3 main parts: the light box, the canopy, and the columns. Jack, Gadget, and Shonn headed up this project, with help and contributions from Barry, Susan, Derende, Helen, and many others. Thanks for your support in making this happen. It was fun, rewarding, and it looked spectacular on the playa.
