Q-tip Man - Burning Man 2005

When I first saw Pepe's model for the dreamer in the Burning Man HQ, I was instantly inspired and started scheming about Q-tip man. I crawled into the head of a playfied purple ear cleaning professional, and I decided to take on that role on the playa. It was a big job, but somebody had to do it. take much, but I loved the concept and performance of it all.

Aside from the pure fun and silliness of it all, one of the reasons that I enjoyed this piece is that I believe that one of the greatest complements that you can give a burning man artist is some art that is based on their art. In it's own way, it legitimizes the art that it mocks.

Day one - The trial run

Photos from the cleaner days

Unfortunately, I had my hands full most of the time and didn't get many photos. If you happened to be one of those people who snapped pictures of me, please send them my way.
